Prof. Dr. Shihui Chen earned his first MS in Pedagogy of Physical Education from Beijing Sports University, China, second M.S. Degree in Adapted Physical Education from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, and the PhD Degree in Adapted Physical Education from the University of New Mexico, USA. Dr. Chen was a tenure associate professor and a graduate faculty member at the University of Texas Pan American before he came to Hong Kong Institute of Education in 2002. He is currently a doctoral students thesis advisor and an adjunct professor at Education University of Hong Kong, and a professor/head of department of Kinesiology at TAMUT. He is the former president of Asian Society of Adapted Physical Education (ASAPE), and the former Secretary General of Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Science (ACESS). Dr. Chen was a Research Fellow of the Research Consortium under the AAHPERD, and is a Certified Adapted Physical Educator (CAPE). Dr. Chen’s research interests are in adapted physical education, health-related physical fitness assessment and evaluation, and exercise therapy for middle age and elderly people, information technology in education, biomechanics of Paralympics sports. Dr. Chen has successful received more than 20 research, TDG and Knowledge transfer grants, and has published more than 70 research articles in referred journals since year of 2000.
