Prof. Dr. G L Khanna, Former Senior Scientific Officer and Head of Department Sports Science National Institute of Sports Patiala, Sports Authority of India is presently working as Project Director, Indian Institute of Sports Science and Research. Graduated with Honors from Presidency College Kolkata and Post Graduation from University of Calcutta in Work Physiology and Ergonomics (Specialization). He has also worked as Professor (M) in University of Science Malaysia. He is Visiting Professor (Sports Sciences) in Tsukuba University, Japan since 2012 and University of Pedidikan Sultan IdrisSI Malaysia, As a project Director He has set up 12 department of Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine in the Universities and Medical colleges across India. He is the member of Prime Minister Olympic Task force constituted by Prime Minister of India. He is past President of Asian Council of Exercise& Sports Science. He is the vice president of BRICS Council of Exercise and Sports Sciences. He is an active member of Physiological society of India. Vice President (International) of National Association of Physical Education and Sports Science India. He is Member of International Institute of Health promotion (USA). He is also the Executive Board Member of Asian Society of Kinesiology (ASK). He is member of International Association of Sports Kinetics, Poland. He is Scientific Committee member of Global Health Foundation (USA). He has delivered invited lectures and keynote address nationally and internationally in many countries.

He has received many Laurels, Oration Awards-S.R Maitra Oration Award, B.B Sarkar Memorial Oration Award and Dr B R Ambedkar Award, He was given appreciation award by National Association of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the conference at Goa. at Delhi. He is the Member Governing Body of Sports, Physical Education, Fitness & Leisure Skills Council (SPEFL-SC) National Sports Development Council (NSDC). He has provided scientific backup to various sportsperson and prepared many Indian Sports persons for International competitions like Asian Games/Commonwealth/Olympics since 1982.He is Presently Governing Board Member of National Sports University Society Manipur Govt of India. He is Editor in Chief of MR International Journal of Applied Health Sciences. He is Editorial Board member and Reviewer of many International and National Journals. His area of Research interest is high performance Physiology, Hydration, Nutritional Supplements and Performance analysis.
